During a recent episode of her talk show, the Kelly Clarkson Show, Kelly Clarkson shared that she was told she was at risk for developing diabetes before she started her weight loss journey.

Clarkson explains to her guest, Kevin James, that she was informed that she was pre-diabetic, which was not surprising to her because she was slightly overweight.

"They told me that I was close to being diabetic, but I didn't take it seriously at first. After two years, I finally decided to take action." The person said with a chuckle.

Recently, Clarkson discussed her weight loss, mentioning that she lost weight by following her doctor's advice. She also credited her healthier habits, both mentally and physically, to her move to New York City.

She expressed her dissatisfaction with living in Los Angeles for a long period of time and stated that she was in need of a new beginning.

Clarkson moved her two children to the West Coast because they were also not thriving in their previous location. The family likes to stay active by making use of the city's walkable layout and taking their dogs to the park.

She believes that her diet played a significant role in her weight loss, stating that she consumes a balanced diet with a focus on protein, which she follows diligently about 90% of the time because it benefits her overall health.

As someone from Texas, Clarkson humorously stated that she enjoys eating meat and apologizes to all the vegetarians out there.

After her divorce from Brandon Blackstock was finalized in early 2022, the singer made the decision to move and also shifted her TV show to New York.
