The lead singer of Sugar Ray has verified that Kid Rock's lyrics about "getting more ass" than Mark McGrath were accurate.
The lyrics were taken from a song called "Cocky" by Rock in 2001, which was featured on his album with the same title. In this particular stanza, the lyrics mention Rock identifying himself as Kid Rock from the old days, boasting about having more money than the band Matchbox Twenty and getting more attention from women than Mark McGrath.
The question that had been lingering for over twenty years was finally answered. It all began when Rock Feed asked on social media if Kid Rock really had more success with women than Mark McGrath.
Shortly after that, well-known YouTuber Finn McKenty proposed that Mark McGrath should be the one to resolve the argument, and he also tagged the lead singer of Sugar Ray.
Shortly after, McGrath responded to the question in a lighthearted manner, confirming that he did indeed rhyme "ass" with his name. The singer's humorous response was shared through X (formerly Twitter) to clear up any confusion.

If you were curious, Matchbox Twenty has not responded to Rock's brag. It would be interesting to compare the financial success of both bands, considering they have both been successful for four decades.
