Walmart is expanding by adding more stores and expanding existing ones, as well as installing electric vehicle charging stations.
According to CNBC, the company plans to construct or transform over 150 "large-format" stores in the United States within the next five years. The Associated Press also noted that Walmart has not opened any new stores in the last three years.

Walmart announced that certain locations will feature their new "Store of the Future" concept, which includes more displays and QR codes for scanning to access more information about products. Before this announcement, Walmart was already in the process of remodeling 650 more locations to include this concept.
According to a statement released by Walmart president and CEO John Furner, the company's investments in labor, supplies, and tax revenue amount to millions of dollars that benefit the communities where their stores are located.
CNBC reported that the company chose not to disclose the expenses related to the stores.
Walmart is planning to incorporate sustainability into their new stores by using energy-efficient lighting and equipment.
Apart from focusing on sustainability initiatives indoors, Walmart is planning to revamp its parking lot by installing fast-charging stations for electric cars.
Walmart is working on creating a network of affordable electric vehicle fast-charging stations across the country to make it easier for Walmart customers and employees to own and use electric vehicles.
According to CNBC, Walmart has over 4,600 stores in the United States and has a workforce of almost 1.6 million employees.
