During a recent episode of her talk show, the Kelly Clarkson Show, Kelly Clarkson shared that she was at risk of developing diabetes before she decided to lose weight. However, she did not start her weight loss journey right away.
Clarkson explained that she was informed she was pre-diabetic during a conversation with guest Kevin James on her show. She mentioned that she wasn't surprised by the news, as she acknowledged she was slightly overweight.
"They told me that I was at risk of developing diabetes, but I didn't take it seriously at first," she says jokingly. "After two years, I finally decided to take action."
Recently, Clarkson discussed her weight loss and mentioned that she lost weight by following her doctor's advice. She also credited her move to New York City for helping her develop healthier habits, both mentally and physically.
She expressed her dissatisfaction with living in Los Angeles for a long period of time and stated that she was in need of a new beginning.
Clarkson moved her two children to the West Coast because they were not adjusting well there. The family likes to stay active by taking advantage of the city's walkable nature and bringing their dogs to the park.
She credits her weight loss to her diet, saying that she eats a balanced mix of foods and sticks to it about 90% of the time because a high-protein diet works well for her.
Clarkson humorously mentioned that she is a fan of meat, being a native of Texas, but apologized to any vegetarians in the audience.
After her divorce from Brandon Blackstock was completed in early 2022, the singer made the decision to move, including relocating her TV show to New York.
