Sugar Ray lead vocalist confirms that Kid Rock's lyrics about getting more attention from women than Mark McGrath were accurate.
The lyrics in question were taken from a song called "Cocky" by Rock, which was released in 2001 as part of an album with the same title. In these lyrics, Rock identifies himself as Kid Rock and boasts about his wealth and popularity compared to other musicians like Matchbox Twenty and Mark McGrath.
The question that has been unanswered for over twenty years was finally addressed recently. It all began when Rock Feed asked on social media whether Kid Rock truly had more romantic relationships than Mark McGrath.
Shortly after that, well-known YouTuber Finn McKenty proposed that Mark McGrath should be the one to resolve the argument, and he also mentioned the Sugar Ray vocalist in his post.
McGrath responded to the question with a good sense of humor and confirmed that the person in question did indeed rhyme "ass" with his last name. He made light of the situation through X, which was previously known as Twitter.

If you were curious, Matchbox Twenty has not responded to Rock's other claim. It would be intriguing to compare the financial success of both bands, as they have both been active for four decades.
