The lead singer of Sugar Ray has verified that Kid Rock's lyrics about "getting more ass" than Mark McGrath were accurate.
The lyrics in question are from Kid Rock's song "Cocky" released in 2001 on his album with the same title. In this part of the song, Kid Rock boasts about his identity as an old-school artist, his wealth compared to Matchbox Twenty, and his success with attracting women compared to Mark McGrath.
How was the question that has been around for over twenty years finally answered? It all began when Rock Feed asked on social media if Kid Rock really had more romantic encounters than Mark McGrath.
Shortly after, well-known YouTuber Finn McKenty proposed that Mark McGrath should resolve the argument, and he also mentioned the Sugar Ray vocalist in his post.
McGrath responded to the question with humor, confirming that he did indeed rhyme "ass" with his own name. He clarified this through X (formerly known as Twitter).

If you were curious, Matchbox Twenty has not responded to Rock's claim. It would be intriguing to compare the financial success of both bands, considering they have both been active for four decades.
