The lead singer of Sugar Ray has verified that Kid Rock's lyrics about getting more attention from women than Mark McGrath were accurate.
The lyrics were taken from Rock's song "Cocky" released in 2001, which is part of his album with the same title. In one part of the song, the lyrics mention Rock introducing himself as Kid Rock from the old school, boasting about having more money than Matchbox Twenty and getting more attention from women than Mark McGrath.
How was a question that had been around for over twenty years finally answered? It all began with Rock Feed asking on social media if Kid Rock really had more romantic encounters than Mark McGrath.
Shortly after that, Finn McKenty, a well-known YouTuber, proposed that Mark McGrath should be the one to resolve the argument. McKenty also made sure to mention and tag the lead singer of Sugar Ray in his suggestion.
McGrath responded to the question in a light-hearted manner, confirming that the other person did indeed rhyme "ass" with his last name. This response was shared through X, which was previously known as Twitter.

If you were curious, Matchbox Twenty has not responded to Rock's other claim. It would be interesting to compare the financial success of both bands, considering they have both been successful for over four decades.
