During a recent episode of her talk show, the Kelly Clarkson Show, Kelly Clarkson shared that she was informed she was at risk of developing diabetes before deciding to lose weight. However, she did not start her weight loss journey right away.
Clarkson revealed on her show to guest Kevin James that she had been informed she was at risk for developing diabetes due to being slightly overweight. She admitted that she wasn't surprised by the news.
"They told me that I was at risk of developing diabetes, but I didn't take it seriously at first. It took me two years to finally decide to take action and make changes to prevent it."
Recently, Clarkson discussed her weight loss, attributing it to following her doctor's advice and adopting healthier habits after moving to New York City.
She expressed that she had been feeling very unhappy in Los Angeles for quite some time and was in need of a new beginning.
Clarkson moved her two children to the West Coast because she felt they were also struggling. The family enjoys staying active by taking advantage of the city's walkable nature and bringing their dogs to the park.
She credits her weight loss to her diet, saying that she eats a mix of healthy foods most of the time because a protein-rich diet works well for her.
"I come from Texas, so I have a preference for meat – my apologies to all the vegetarians out there!" Clarkson humorously stated.
After her divorce from Brandon Blackstock was finalized in early 2022, the singer made the decision to move and relocate her TV show to New York.
