The lead singer of Sugar Ray has verified that Kid Rock's lyrics about getting more attention from women than Mark McGrath were accurate.
The lyrics were taken from a song called "Cocky" by Rock in 2001, which was part of his album with the same name. In the verse, he mentions his identity as Kid Rock and boasts about having more money than Matchbox Twenty and getting more attention from women than Mark McGrath.
The question that has been around for over twenty years was recently addressed. Rock Feed initiated the discussion by asking on social media if Kid Rock really had more romantic encounters than Mark McGrath.
Shortly after that, well-known YouTuber Finn McKenty proposed that Mark McGrath should be the one to resolve the argument, and he also mentioned the Sugar Ray vocalist in his post.
McGrath responded promptly and in a lighthearted manner to the question. He confirmed that the person in question did indeed rhyme "ass" with his last name, adding that he appreciated the clever wordplay. McGrath's response was shared through X, which was previously known as Twitter.

If you were curious, Matchbox Twenty has not yet responded to Rock's other statement. It would be intriguing to compare the financial success of both bands, considering they have been active for four decades.
