Sennheiser has introduced the HD 490 PRO headphones. According to Sennheiser, this new collection provides outstanding clarity, comfort, and durability, and has been designed to cater to the needs of contemporary music production.
The HD 490 PRO series guarantees a natural frequency response, delivering a lively and genuine sound reproduction throughout all audio frequencies with a range of 5Hz to 36.1kHz (-10dB). The headphones come with two sets of ear pads that are tailored for production and mixing purposes. This function helps reduce ear strain and enables precise identification of frequencies during critical listening tasks.
The HD 490 PRO headphones have an open-back design and are equipped with neodymium magnets and Sennheiser's unique low-frequency cylinder system. This system is designed to provide a complete, precise, and clear low end sound, allowing for accurate capture of low frequencies.
Sennheiser created these headphones with a focus on comfort and flexibility, ensuring they are lightweight and can be worn for long periods of time in the studio. The Open-frame Architecture in the HD 490 PRO series helps to minimize unwanted sound effects and distortion.
The headphones come with a plug-in called Dear Reality dearVR MIX-SE, which utilizes spatial audio technology to provide users with a virtual mixing space that replicates the sound characteristics of different real-life mixing studios and environments through headphone monitors.
The HD 490 PRO Plus model comes with a longer 3m cable, an extra headband pad, and a carrying case.
There are two options in the HD 490 PRO series – the HD 490 PRO and the HD 490 PRO Plus. Each option comes with the HD 490 PRO headphones and accessories such as a 3.5 mm to 6.3 mm adapter, 1.8 m cable, mixing ear pads, and producing ear pads. The HD 490 PRO Plus also includes extra items like a headband pad, 3 m cable, and a case.
The Sennheiser HD 490 PRO headphones are currently on the market, with the PRO version priced at $399£349 and the PRO Plus version priced at $479£399.
