Sennheiser Unveils HD 490 PRO Headphones: A Game-Changer for Music Production

  • by

Presenting the new HD 490 PRO headphones from Sennheiser. Welcome to the announcement

Sennheiser recently introduced the HD 490 PRO headphones, which they say provide excellent sound quality, comfort, and durability. These headphones were designed to meet the needs of today's music producers.

The HD 490 PRO series guarantees a neutral frequency response, delivering a lively and genuine audio reproduction throughout the entire range of sounds with a frequency range of 5Hz – 36.1kHz (-10dB). These headphones come with two different sets of ear pads that are tailored for creating and mixing music. This special feature helps reduce ear strain and enables precise identification of frequencies during detailed listening sessions.

The HD 490 PRO headphones are designed with an open-back design, neodymium magnets, and Sennheiser's unique low-frequency cylinder system to provide a rich and precise low end sound quality. They are able to accurately capture low frequencies with precision.

Sennheiser created these headphones with a focus on comfort by reducing pressure points and providing a lightweight and flexible design, ideal for long studio sessions. The Open-frame Architecture in the HD 490 PRO series helps to decrease resonance and lower total harmonic distortion for improved sound quality.

The headphones come with a plug-in called Dear Reality dearVR MIX-SE, which utilizes spatial audio technology to provide users with a virtual mixing space that mimics the sound characteristics of different real-world mixing studios and places when using headphone monitors.

The HD 490 PRO Plus model comes with a longer 3m cable, an extra headband pad, and a carrying case as added bonuses.

There are two options in the HD 490 PRO series – the HD 490 PRO and HD 490 PRO Plus. Both options come with the HD 490 PRO headphones and accessories like a 3.5 mm to 6.3 mm adapter, 1.8 m cable, mixing and producing ear pads. The HD 490 PRO Plus also includes an extra headband pad, a longer 3 m cable, and a case for storage.

The Sennheiser HD 490 PRO headphones can be purchased at the moment for $399£349 for the basic PRO model and $479£399 for the upgraded PRO Plus version.
