Sugar Ray Singer Confirms Kid Rock Was Right: He Did “Get More Ass” Than Mark McGrath

  • by

The lead singer of Sugar Ray has verified that Kid Rock was accurate in his lyrics about "getting more ass" than Mark McGrath.

The lyrics were taken from a song called "Cocky" by Rock in 2001, which was part of his album with the same name. In the specific part, the lyrics say: "Do you even know who I am? I am Kid Rock from the old school. I have more money than Matchbox Twenty and get more attention than Mark McGrath."

How was a question that has been around for over twenty years finally answered? It all began when Rock Feed asked on social media whether Kid Rock really had more romantic success than Mark McGrath.

Shortly thereafter, Finn McKenty, a well-known YouTuber, proposed that Mark McGrath should be the one to resolve the argument, and he also mentioned the singer from Sugar Ray in his post.

McGrath responded to the question with humor and confirmed that the person in question did indeed rhyme "ass" with his last name. He clarified this through X (formerly known as Twitter).

If you were curious, Matchbox Twenty has not responded to Rock's other statement. Since both bands have been active for four decades, it would be intriguing to see how their financials compare.
