Sugar Ray vocalist verifies that Kid Rock's lyrics about getting more attention than Mark McGrath were accurate. McGrath confirmed that Kid Rock's claim in his song "Bawitdaba" was true.
The words in question were taken from Rock's song "Cocky" released in 2001 as part of his album with the same title. In the verse, he mentions not caring who the person is and proudly identifies himself as Kid Rock from the old school. He also boasts about having more money than Matchbox Twenty and getting more attention from women than Mark McGrath.
The question that had been unanswered for over twenty years was finally addressed. The process began when Rock Feed asked on social media whether Kid Rock had truly been more successful with relationships than Mark McGrath.
Shortly after, well-known YouTuber Finn McKenty proposed that Mark McGrath should be the one to resolve the argument, and he made sure to tag the lead singer of Sugar Ray in his suggestion.
Shortly after, McGrath responded to the question with a sense of humor. He confirmed that the person did indeed rhyme "ass" with his name, and he appreciated the creativity. McGrath's response was shared through X (formerly known as Twitter).

If you were curious, Matchbox Twenty has not responded to Rock's other claim. It would be intriguing to compare the financial success of both bands, as they have both been successful for four decades.
