The lead singer of Sugar Ray has verified that Kid Rock was telling the truth in his lyrics about getting more attention than Mark McGrath.
The lyrics were taken from a song called "Cocky" by Rock in 2001, which was part of an album with the same name. The specific part of the song contains the lines: "Do you know who I am? I am Kid Rock from the traditional school. I have more money than the band Matchbox Twenty and I get more attention from women than Mark McGrath."
How did they finally find an answer to a question that has been around for over 20 years? It all began when Rock Feed asked on social media if Kid Rock really had more romantic encounters than Mark McGrath.
Shortly after, well-known YouTuber Finn McKenty proposed the idea of having Mark McGrath resolve the argument, and even tagged the lead singer of Sugar Ray in the suggestion.
McGrath responded to the question with a good sense of humor, confirming that the statement was true and even giving extra credit for rhyming "ass" with his last name. The singer made this response through X (formerly Twitter).

If you were curious, Matchbox Twenty has not responded to Rock's claim. It would be interesting to compare the financial success of both bands, considering they have both been active for four decades.
