Sennheiser has revealed the HD 490 PRO headphones.

Sennheiser has introduced the HD 490 PRO headphones. They state that this new range provides excellent clarity, comfort, and durability, and has been designed to cater to the needs of contemporary music production.

The HD 490 PRO series guarantees a natural and accurate sound reproduction without any coloration, covering the full range of audio frequencies from 5Hz to 36.1kHz (-10dB). These headphones come with two sets of ear pads that are tailored for music production and mixing. This design helps prevent ear fatigue and enables precise identification of frequencies during critical listening tasks.

The HD 490 PRO headphones are built with an open-back design, neodymium magnets, and Sennheiser's unique low-frequency cylinder system. This design is meant to provide a complete, precise, and clear low end sound, allowing for accurate capture of low frequencies.

Sennheiser has created headphones that are comfortable and lightweight, specifically for long studio sessions. The HD 490 PRO series uses Sennheiser's Open-frame Architecture to reduce distortion and resonance.

The headphones come with a plug-in called Dear Reality dearVR MIX-SE, which utilizes spatial audio technology to create a virtual mixing space that replicates the sound characteristics of different real-life mix studios and locations when using headphone monitors.

The HD 490 PRO Plus model comes with a longer 3m cable, an extra headband pad, and a carrying case.

The HD 490 PRO series comes in two options – HD 490 PRO and HD 490 PRO Plus. Both versions come with the HD 490 PRO headphones and accessories like a 3.5 mm to 6.3 mm adapter, 1.8m cable, mixing ear pads, and producing ear pads. The HD 490 PRO Plus also includes extra features like an additional headband pad, a 3m cable, and a case.

The Sennheiser HD 490 PRO headphones are currently on the market, with the PRO version priced at $399£349 and the PRO Plus version priced at $479£399.
