Presenting the latest release from Sennheiser: the HD 490 PRO headphones.
Sennheiser has introduced a new model of headphones called the HD 490 PRO. According to Sennheiser, these headphones are designed to provide excellent sound quality, comfort, and durability, and are tailored to cater to the needs of today's music production industry.
The HD 490 PRO series guarantees a natural and accurate sound reproduction without any coloration, covering a wide range of frequencies from 5Hz to 36.1kHz (-10dB). These headphones come with two sets of ear pads that are tailored for producing and mixing music. This design helps reduce ear fatigue and enables precise identification of frequencies during critical listening tasks.
The HD 490 PRO headphones are designed with an open-back style and feature neodymium magnets and Sennheiser's unique low-frequency cylinder system. This design is said to provide a rich, precise, and clear low end sound, as well as the capability to accurately capture low frequencies.
Sennheiser has created these headphones with a focus on reducing discomfort and providing a comfortable, lightweight fit, making them ideal for long studio sessions. The Open-frame Architecture used in the HD 490 PRO series by Sennheiser aims to decrease unwanted vibrations and lower overall sound distortion.
The headphones come with a plug-in called Dear Reality dearVR MIX-SE, which utilizes spatial audio technology to create a virtual mixing space that replicates the sound characteristics of different real-world recording studios and venues when using headphones.
The HD 490 PRO Plus model comes with a longer 3m cable, an extra headband pad, and a carrying case as added accessories.
There are two versions of the HD 490 PRO series available – the HD 490 PRO and HD 490 PRO Plus. Each version includes the HD 490 PRO headphones, a 3.5 mm to 6.3 mm adapter, a 1.8 m cable, mixing ear pads, and producing ear pads. The HD 490 PRO Plus also comes with an extra headband pad, a 3 m cable, and a case.
The Sennheiser HD 490 PRO headphones are currently on sale. The PRO version is priced at $399£349, while the PRO Plus version is priced at $479£399.
