Exploring the Enhanced Audio Performance of Acustica Audio’s Amber 4 Ultra Plug-In Suite

  • by

You have arrived at the page for the Amber 4 Ultra plug-in suite created by Acustica Audio.

Acustica Audio has released a new version of their popular Amber 4 plug-in suite called Amber 4 Ultra. This new version utilizes their Hyper technology and Aria engine to provide improved graphics and audio performance. It includes faithful models of Class A gear such as EQs, a compressor, and a preamp.

The suite includes two EQ plug-ins called Amber 4 Ultra and Amber 4 Stereo Ultra. They both have the same controls, but the Stereo version has separate controls for each channel. Each plug-in has four bands with frequency and gain controls. The low- and high-mid bands have a width setting, and the low- and high-frequency bands have a switch for peak and shelf filters.

The Amber 4 Ultra EQ offers a continuous control to target signals in the mid, left/right, and side channels. On the other hand, the Amber 4 Stereo Ultra EQ allows for individual control over the left/mid and right/side channels. Acustica claims that the Amber 4 Ultra is a powerful, low-noise parametric EQ in the digital realm, while the Amber 4 Stereo Ultra is one of the most musically transparent EQ options in their collection.

The Amber 4 Comp Ultra emulates a Class-A opto compressor unit using Hyper technology to provide a clear dynamics processor. It includes typical compressor settings, as well as features like side-chain filtering, adjustable stereo linking, controls for blending mid, left/right, and side signals, and built-in parallel compression.

The Amber 4 Pre Ultra features a collection of eight emulations of Class A preamp designs, including both solid-state and valve-based units. These units have a simple set of controls for input and output levels, as well as Preamp (gain) and Filter (high-pass) adjustments.

The plug-ins now have dynamic and real-time metering displays thanks to the new Aira engine. They also feature the company's Anti-Aliasing algorithm and consume less CPU power than the previous versions.

System Requirements

To use Amber 4 Ultra, your computer must be running either Windows 10 or 11 for PCs, or macOS 10.15 and above for Macs. You can access VST2, VST3, AU, and AAX plug-in versions for compatibility with different systems.

Information about pricing and availability for Amber 4 Ultra states that it is currently on the market and can be purchased for a discounted price of €89 until February 26, 2024. After this date, the price will increase to €209.
