Confirmed: Sugar Ray Singer Confirms Kid Rock Lyrics Were True – Did Kid Rock Really ‘Get More Ass’ Than Mark McGrath?

  • by

Lead singer of Sugar Ray, Mark McGrath, has verified that Kid Rock was not lying in his lyrics when he claimed to "get more ass." McGrath confirmed that the "Bawitdaba" musician was speaking the truth in that boastful statement.

The lyrics were taken from a song called "Cocky" by Rock, released in 2001 as part of his album with the same title. The specific part of the song contains the following lyrics: "I don't care who you are / I'm Kid Rock from the traditional school / I have more money than Matchbox Twenty / I attract more attention than Mark McGrath."

How was a long-standing question finally answered after over twenty years? It all began when Rock Feed asked on social media whether Kid Rock really had more romantic encounters than Mark McGrath.

Shortly after, well-known YouTuber Finn McKenty proposed that Mark McGrath should be the one to resolve the argument, and he also mentioned the Sugar Ray vocalist in his post.

McGrath responded to the question with a good attitude, confirming that the person did indeed rhyme "ass" with McGrath. He added some humor to his response and clarified any confusion through X (formerly Twitter).

If you were curious, Matchbox Twenty has not responded to Rock's other claim. It would be intriguing to see how their finances compare, considering both bands have been successful for four decades.
