The newest release from Acustica Audio features their innovative Hyper technology and updated Aria engine to offer an improved version of the well-known Amber 4 plug-in suite. Amber 4 Ultra includes accurate models of Class A equipment, such as EQs, a compressor, and a preamp, with upgraded visuals and better audio quality.
The suite includes two EQ plug-ins called Amber 4 Ultra and Amber 4 Stereo Ultra. Both plug-ins have the same controls, but the Stereo version has separate controls for each channel. Each plug-in has four bands with frequency and gain controls. The low- and high-mid bands have a width parameter, while the low- and high-frequency bands have a control that allows you to switch between peak and shelf filter types.
Amber 4 Ultra has a continuous control that allows for precise adjustments to mid, left/right, and side signals, while Amber4 Stereo Ultra offers separate control over the left/mid and right/side channels. According to Acustica, the former is a highly effective, low-noise parametric EQ in the digital realm, and they claim that the latter is one of the most sonically transparent EQ options in their lineup.
The Amber 4 Comp Ultra emulates a Class-A opto compressor using Hyper technology to create a transparent dynamics processor. It includes typical compressor parameters as well as features like side-chain filtering, variable stereo linking, a control for blending mid, left/right, and side signals, and built-in parallel compression.
Amber 4 Pre Ultra offers a variety of Class A preamp designs, including both solid-state and valve-based units. Each design has a straightforward set of controls for adjusting input and output levels, as well as the preamp gain and high-pass filter.
With the introduction of the new Aira engine, all the plug-ins now have the ability to show dynamic and real-time metering displays while utilizing the company's Anti-Aliasing algorithm. Additionally, they have lower CPU usage compared to the previous versions.

To use Amber 4 Ultra, you will need a PC with Windows 10 or 11, or a Mac with macOS 10.15 or later. You can choose from VST2, VST3, AU, or AAX plug-in versions to suit your needs.
The Amber 4 Ultra is currently on the market and can be purchased for an initial price of €89 until February 26, 2024. After this date, the price will increase to €209.
