Surveillance Video Challenges Officer’s Claims in Chris Young Arrest

  • by

Surveillance footage contradicts the claims made by an officer regarding the arrest of Chris Young.

Footage from the security cameras at a bar in Nashville seems to challenge the statement made by a Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission agent regarding Chris Young's arrest. The agent had claimed that the country singer had assaulted him during the incident on Monday night.

There are two surveillance videos that were shared on Facebook by Nick Beres, a reporter from Nashville's Newschannel 5. These videos show Young, who is wearing a leather jacket, approaching the undercover TABC agents. Young is seen touching one of the agents on the arm without any aggression. In response, the agent forcefully pushes Young, causing him to fall over a bar stool at the Dawg House bar.

Young was accused of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and assaulting an officer after the incident. The video footage does not capture Young's actual arrest or whether he resisted. However, according to the arrest affidavit obtained by Rolling Stone, the agent stated that Young "blocked" the agents from leaving Dawg House and physically stopped the agent from leaving the bar by placing his hands on the agent's shoulder. The video evidence suggests that the agent's description was exaggerated.

Chris Young was taken into custody at a bar in Nashville, as shown in a video shared on Twitter by user @MCFongduck on January 24, 2024. The video clip captures the moment of Chris Young's arrest.

Young is standing by, wanting to inquire about why the men took a picture of his identification. He tries to approach the agent to have a conversation, but the agent forcefully pushes him, causing him to fall to the ground. According to Young's attorney, all Young wanted was to verify the identity of the men, who were not wearing any recognizable uniforms, and to question them about the reason behind photographing his ID.

After being pushed by the agent, Young retreats from the conflict with his hands raised, as his companions and a few other customers gather around the agents.

According to Beres, Young's lawyer has informed him that the incident involving his client at the Dawg House was unjust and that he should not have been arrested. The lawyer also believes that ABC should withdraw the charges against Young and issue an apology.

According to the sworn statement, Young exhibited signs of intoxication such as bloodshot and watery eyes, as well as slurred speech. He was arrested and later released from Metro jail on Tuesday morning. Young's upcoming court appearance for the charges is set for February 16th.

Recently, a surveillance video released by Chris Young's attorney has sparked inquiries regarding the country star's arrest at a well-known Nashville bar on Monday night. The video, which can be viewed at the provided link, raises questions about the incident.

Young's lawyer, Bill Ramsey, expressed his disagreement with the singer's arrest and urged for the charges to be dismissed.

According to Ramsey, the actions taken against his client Chris Young at a bar in Nashville were unjustified and he should not have been arrested or charged. Ramsey believes that, considering the video evidence, the Tennessee ABC should drop the charges and offer an apology for the physical, emotional, and professional harm inflicted on his client.
