Charley Crockett has not released a record in 16 months, which may seem like a short time for many artists, but not for Crockett. In the span of five years from 2018 to 2022, the singer-songwriter from Texas released an impressive nine records.

Crockett's highly anticipated album, $10 Cowboy, is generating a lot of excitement due to several factors, including the long wait for its release. In a statement, Crockett expressed that the album is a heartfelt homage to his homeland, showcasing his love and admiration for his country.

He expressed that this writing is created in various places such as truck stops, casinos, and the alleys behind venues. He also mentioned that he writes in his truck, which is parked up on South Congress in Austin. Being a wandering individual like himself, someone who constantly moves from place to place, he believes he is in an advantageous position to provide insightful commentary about America.

Crockett has consistently explored the theme of America throughout his career. In an interview with Rolling Stone in 2021, he revealed that his song "Music City, U.S.A." also touches on the subject of the United States.

Co-written by Billy Horton, the title track of Crockett's album " $10 Cowboy" showcases his signature style of gritty and authentic storytelling that has become synonymous with his recent songwriting. Crockett and his band will be performing the song for the first time on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday evening.

In a statement, Crockett expressed that being on the road allows him to witness firsthand the struggles that different types of Americans face. From the roughnecks working in the oil and gas fields of West Texas, to single mothers raising children alone, to young men who feel they have no other option but to work on the streets, each of these individuals feels invisible. Crockett is deeply impacted by the internal battles they face and how they have been trapped by society's perceptions of them.
