Country singer Morgan Wallen expresses anger towards his former managers for making his old music available to the public without his consent. In response, he releases a new song that serves as a comeback to their actions.
Country singer Morgan Wallen released a fresh track called "Spin You Around (1/24)" on Friday as a response to his former managers allegedly releasing his old songs without his consent. Wallen explained the situation to his fans in a detailed Instagram post on Thursday.
Wallen relocated to Florida in 2014 with the intention of writing and recording his own music. This decision eventually resulted in him signing a recording contract as well as an artist management agreement that he now deeply regrets. Wallen admitted to signing these agreements without seeking legal advice.
According to him, they created a total of 13 songs. While some of them were decent, most of them were quite awful because he was still in the process of learning how to write and figuring things out. It's worth mentioning that he didn't work alone on these songs, so many of them were not his own ideas and did not meet his personal standards.
The singer mentioned that the outcome of those recording sessions was a five-track EP called Stand Alone. One of the songs on the EP, titled "Spin You Around," gained popularity among fans. Now, a decade later, Wallen reveals that his former colleagues are planning to release the original EP again, along with eight previously unreleased songs.
Here is a post that was shared by Morgan Wallen on his Instagram account.
Wallen expressed his disgust towards the situation, stating that it is repulsive, driven by excessive greed, and serves as a perfect illustration of how the negative aspects of the music industry can drain the creativity and passion from artists.
Wallen has announced that he will be re-recording his song "Spin You Around" in response to the controversy surrounding his use of a racial slur. Additionally, he is making a donation of $100,000 from his Morgan Wallen Foundation to the Volunteer Lawyers & Professionals for the Arts program, which offers legal support to artists in Tennessee. Wallen hopes that this action will inspire young musicians to stand up for their creative freedoms and not compromise their integrity in the music industry.
