Country Star Chris Young Arrested for Disorderly Conduct and Assaulting Officer at Nashville Bar

  • by

Chris Young was taken into custody for behaving in a disorderly manner and allegedly assaulting a police officer at a bar in Nashville.

Chris Young, a country singer set to release his album "Young Love & Saturday Nights" on March 22, was taken into custody on Monday at a bar in Nashville. The reason behind his arrest was reportedly a dispute with an official from the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission.

Based on the arrest records obtained by Rolling Stone, Young, who is 38 years old, has been accused of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and assaulting a police officer.

The occurrence seems to have started from a regular inspection carried out by the TABC to ensure that identification and license cards were being properly checked at bars located on Demonbreun Hill, a well-liked area with nightclubs in Nashville. During the inspection, when the TABC agents were checking the IDs of people drinking at the bar Tin Roof, Young presented his own ID and then proceeded to inquire and record videos of the agents.

Based on the document, Young and several of his friends followed the agents to a bar called the Dawg House. Young allegedly prevented one of the agents from leaving the bar by blocking their path and then hitting them on the shoulder. The agent pushed Young away in order to create distance, as they were unaware of who Young was or what his intentions were.

According to the sworn statement, there was a confrontation that occurred, resulting in Young being detained and placed in handcuffs. The report mentions that Young had bloodshot and watery eyes, as well as slurred speech. Young was then taken to the Metro jail and was released on Tuesday morning.
