Loretta Lynn's family recently shared an update on the health of her son, Ernest Ray Lynn, who underwent surgery for his kidney failure. However, the initial outcomes of the procedure were not as positive as anticipated by the doctors.

Crystal, the wife of Ernest, shared an update with fans on Thursday (Jan. 25) regarding Ernest's recent operation. She had originally shared the details on Facebook. Crystal had mentioned earlier that this was the day when doctors would have more information about the outcome of the surgery.

In her update, she expressed that the day did not turn out as expected, but they remain determined and optimistic. They firmly believe that the operation will be a success and that their needs will be met by the Lord. They kindly request prayers for the device to function properly tomorrow morning. Their faith in God and the power of prayer is unwavering, and they are grateful for the ongoing support, care, and friendship.

Crystal has not provided any further official updates on Ernest as of Sunday, but she has taken to social media to inform fans that the family is still keeping him in their prayers. Additionally, she has shared a collection of photos featuring Ernest, some of which seem to have been captured while he was in the hospital.

Loretta Lynn has experienced the unfortunate loss of two of her children, whom she had with her late husband, Oliver "Doolittle" Lynn. Her eldest daughter, Betty Sue, passed away in 2013 due to complications from emphysema. Additionally, her eldest son, Jack Benny, tragically died in 1984 while attempting to cross a river on their property in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee.

Lynn passed away at the age of 90 in her residence in Hurricane Mills on October 4, 2022. Throughout her life, she achieved great fame and recognition in the country music industry, making her one of its most prominent figures. Lynn holds the record for being the female country performer with the highest number of awards received.
