Surveillance Video Reveals Contradictions in Chris Young’s Arrest: Officer’s Assault Claims Disputed

  • by

Surveillance footage challenges the allegations made by an officer regarding Chris Young's arrest.

According to Daniel Kreps, footage captured by a surveillance camera on the night of Chris Young's arrest at a bar in Nashville seems to contradict the allegations made by a Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission agent. The agent had claimed that the country star assaulted him during the incident that occurred on Monday night.

There are two surveillance videos shared on Facebook by Nick Beres, a reporter from Newschannel 5 in Nashville. The videos show a man named Young, who is wearing a leather jacket, approaching undercover agents from the TABC (Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission). Young calmly touches one of the agents on the arm. In response, the agent forcefully pushes Young, causing him to fall over a bar stool at the Dawg House bar.

Following the incident, Young was charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and assault of an officer. The video does not provide evidence of Young's actual arrest or whether he resisted. However, according to the arrest affidavit obtained by Rolling Stone, the agent claimed that Young "blocked" the agents from leaving Dawg House and "put his hands out to stop me from leaving the bar and stuck me on the shoulder." However, the video shows that this claim was exaggerated.

A video shared on Twitter shows that Chris Young was arrested at a bar in Nashville. The tweet includes a link to the video.

Young is patiently waiting to inquire about why the men took a picture of his identification. He tries to approach the agent and request a conversation, but the agent forcefully pushes him, causing him to fall to the ground. According to Young's attorney, all his client wanted was to verify the identity of the individuals, who were not easily recognizable in any specific uniforms, and question them regarding the purpose of photographing his ID.

After being pushed by the agent, Young starts to move away from the confrontation with his hands raised, as his colleagues and a few other customers gather around the agents.

Beres stated that according to Young's lawyer, the way his client was treated in the Dawg House was unjust. The lawyer believes that Young should never have been arrested and suggests that ABC should withdraw the charges against him and issue an apology.

According to the affidavit, Young exhibited signs of intoxication such as bloodshot and watery eyes, as well as slurred speech. He was arrested and later released from Metro jail on Tuesday morning. Young's next court appearance for the charges is set for February 16th.

According to a statement made by Young's lawyer, Bill Ramsey, he believes that Young's arrest was unjust and is requesting for the charges to be dismissed.

Ramsey, the lawyer representing Chris Young, expressed his belief that the arrest and charges against his client were unjust. He emphasized that the Tennessee ABC should drop the charges and issue an apology, considering the video evidence that supports Young's innocence. Ramsey also highlighted the negative impact this incident has had on Young, both personally and professionally.
