Eric Church and Morgan Wallen have taken on a new role as owners of 'Field & Stream' Magazine.
Eric Church and Morgan Wallen have ventured into the publishing industry by purchasing Field & Stream magazine. They plan to revive the brand by transforming it into a print magazine, website, and apparel company. Additionally, they have intentions to organize a live music festival. This move can be seen as a modern version of the famous media mogul William Randolph Hearst's involvement in the publishing industry.
The "Field & Stream 1871 Club" offers different subscription tiers for its members. These tiers range in price from $15 to $95 per year and grant online access to new articles about hunting, fishing, and outdoor activities, as well as access to the F&S archives. Subscribers who choose the top two tiers will also receive a printed version of the Field & Stream magazine, which is published twice a year in an 11 x 14 format. In addition to these benefits, members will also receive exclusive accessories like bandannas and hats, as well as early access to live events and the opportunity to purchase products before the general public. This may include tickets to a music festival, which is likely to feature popular artists.
Church and Wallen have partnered with a group of investors to acquire the Field & Stream retail brand from Dick's Sporting Goods. They have also acquired the media component from Recurrent, a digital media company.
Church expressed in a statement that his grandfather used to have some of his preferred Field & Stream magazines displayed on the dashboard of his truck. These magazines held great significance to Church, almost like a religious text. He considers it a great privilege to ensure that this legacy continues. Church feels a sense of duty to uphold the reputation of this iconic American publication and to honor the memory of a young boy sitting in his grandfather's truck. This responsibility will serve as a guiding principle for their actions.
Wallen expressed his love for spending time with friends in outdoor activities like camping, boating, and hunting. He believes that Field & Stream embodies these experiences and being a part of its future is an incredible opportunity. He aims to continue bringing people together in the outdoors and creating lasting memories for future generations.
