Eric Church and Morgan Wallen have taken on a new role as owners of 'Field & Stream' magazine.
Eric Church and Morgan Wallen have ventured into the publishing industry by acquiring Field & Stream magazine. They plan to revive the brand as a print publication, an online platform, and a clothing company, in addition to organizing a live music festival. This move puts them in the footsteps of legendary media mogul William Randolph Hearst.
The "Field & Stream 1871 Club" offers different subscription tiers to its members, with prices ranging from $15 to $95 per year. These tiers grant online access to new hunting, fishing, and outdoor stories, as well as access to the F&S archives. Subscribers who choose the top two tiers will also receive a print magazine, which is published twice a year and measures 11 x 14 inches. In addition, members will enjoy exclusive accessories such as bandannas and hats, early access to live events, and the opportunity to purchase products before the general public. It is highly likely that the new owners will feature a music festival, and club members will have priority access to purchase tickets for this event.
Church and Wallen have recently partnered with a group of investors to acquire the Field & Stream retail brand from Dick's Sporting Goods and the media component from Recurrent, a digital media company.
Church stated that he fondly recalls his grandfather storing some of his beloved Field & Stream magazines on the dashboard of his truck. These magazines held great significance to Church, and he considered them to be his source of inspiration and guidance. Church feels incredibly privileged to continue the legacy of this iconic publication. He believes it is his duty to preserve the values and traditions associated with Field & Stream, as it not only pays homage to an American symbol but also serves as a way to connect with his younger self riding alongside his grandfather in the truck. This responsibility will serve as a guiding force in their actions and decisions.
Wallen expressed his love for spending time with friends in various outdoor settings such as around a campfire, on a boat, or in a deer stand. He sees Field & Stream as representing these activities and is thrilled to be a part of its future. His goal is to continue bringing people together in the outdoors and creating lasting memories for future generations.
