Eric Church and Morgan Wallen Purchase Field & Stream Magazine: A New Venture in Publishing and Outdoor Lifestyle

  • by

Eric Church and Morgan Wallen have taken on a new role as owners of 'Field & Stream' magazine.

Eric Church and Morgan Wallen, both country singers, have ventured into the publishing industry by purchasing Field & Stream magazine. They plan to revamp the popular outdoorsy brand, turning it into a print magazine, website, and apparel company. Additionally, they have intentions to organize a live music festival. This move puts them in the same league as the renowned media mogul, William Randolph Hearst.

The "Field & Stream 1871 Club" offers different membership options for subscribers. These options range in price from $15 to $95 per year and grant online access to new stories about hunting, fishing, and the outdoors, as well as access to the F&S archives. Members who choose the top two tiers will also receive the Field & Stream print magazine, which is published twice a year in an 11 x 14 format. In addition, members can enjoy exclusive accessories like bandannas and hats, and they will have early access to attend live events and purchase products. This includes the opportunity to purchase tickets to a music festival, which is expected to have significant headliners chosen by the new owners.

Church and Wallen have partnered with a group of investors to acquire the Field & Stream retail brand from Dick's Sporting Goods and the media division from Recurrent, a digital media company.

Church expressed in a statement that he has vivid memories of his grandfather storing some of his beloved Field & Stream magazines on the dashboard of his truck. These magazines held great significance for him and served as a source of inspiration and guidance. Church considers it a great privilege to continue his grandfather's legacy and ensure that it lives on. He views this as a duty not only to an iconic American publication but also to a younger version of himself sitting in his grandfather's truck. This sense of responsibility will serve as a guiding force in their endeavors.

"I absolutely love spending time with friends in various outdoor settings such as sitting around a campfire, being on a boat, or being in a deer stand. To me, Field & Stream encompasses all of these experiences. It is truly amazing to be a part of its future and our goal is to continue bringing people together in the outdoors, creating lasting memories for future generations."
