The Trauma Behind the Success: Hayden Panettiere Opens Up About Her Experience on ‘Nashville

  • by

In a recent interview, Hayden Panettiere, known for her role in the hit TV show 'Nashville', shared that her experience filming the show had a significant emotional impact on her, describing it as "very traumatizing". Despite achieving great professional success, Panettiere reveals that the process of working on the show took a toll on her well-being.

From 2012 to 2018, Panettiere played the role of Juliette Barnes, a country star, in the TV show Nashville. Throughout her career, the actress has been candid about her battles with alcohol, opioids, and post-partum depression. In a recent interview, she revealed to the Messenger that the show's writers drew heavily from her own experiences to develop her character's storylines, which made the filming process particularly challenging for her.

"Right from the beginning, it felt like I was dating a football player and then the character Juliette also dated a football player," Panettiere explains. "But then they portrayed her as an alcoholic and had her leave her daughter to go to some crazy place in Europe. It was clear that they were not being creative and just taking inspiration from my own life and adding their own twist to it. And just like that, it was done and finished."

Panettiere expresses that her time in Nashville was highly fulfilling for her professional growth. However, she also reveals that being on the show was a distressing experience as it seemed to mirror her personal life.

Panettiere is preparing to start a tour called "A Conversation With Hayden Panettiere" that aims to inspire and support individuals who are facing similar challenges as she has in her life.
