Parton suggests that she could potentially lead a contest called "Finding Dolly," where they would conduct an extensive search to find actors for three distinct versions of the main character. These versions would include a younger Dolly, a Dolly from her earlier years, and an older Dolly.
"We will be conducting auditions and searching for talented individuals using various methods. I believe this process will be enjoyable for everyone," Parton explains. "It is unpredictable where we will discover these individuals. They could be completely new to performing or perhaps have only been involved in small local theater productions. However, our search for these talents will be an exciting and enjoyable part of the process."
Parton has mentioned the idea of a musical about her life before, casually mentioning it in various interviews. She expressed her desire to have the show ready by "late '25," as per her recent discussion with People magazine.
The country icon has a number of career aspirations that she is actively pursuing. In an interview with Taste of Country last January, Parton shared her desire to establish her own television network in the near future.
