Hayden Panettiere, known for her role in the hit TV show "Nashville," recently revealed in an interview that her experience working on the show was incredibly distressing and left her feeling traumatized. Despite achieving significant success in her professional career through the show, Panettiere admits that filming it took a toll on her well-being.
Panettiere portrayed the character of Juliette Barnes, a country star, in the TV series Nashville, which aired from 2012 to 2018. Throughout her career, the actress has been candid about her battles with alcohol, opioids, and post-partum depression. In a recent interview with the Messenger, she revealed that the show's writers drew heavily from her own experiences to develop her character's storylines. This aspect made the filming process particularly challenging for her.
Right from the start, it felt like I was dating a football player, and then Juliette starts dating a football player too," Panettiere explains. "Then they portray her as an alcoholic. After that, they have her abandon her daughter and go to some crazy place in Europe, and it was very obvious… They didn't put much effort into creating new storylines. They simply looked at my life and decided to put their own twist on it. And voila! It's done and finished."
According to Panettiere, her time on the Nashville show was highly fulfilling in terms of her career. However, she also expressed that it was a deeply distressing experience for her as she felt as though she was reliving her own life through her acting.
Panettiere is planning to go on a tour called "A Conversation With Hayden Panettiere" that will take place in three different cities. The purpose of this tour is to inspire and support those who are facing similar challenges as she has in her life.
