  • by

Dolly Parton is interested in organizing a lookalike contest for a specific reason. If you happen to closely resemble Dolly Parton, whether it is from any point in her career, she may consider selecting you to play her in a Broadway musical that tells the story of her life.

It is true, Dolly Parton is currently working on transforming her life story into a musical, as she shared with People magazine.

She expresses that achieving the goal of performing on Broadway and debuting her own show there has been a significant aspiration for her for a long time. She emphasizes that ensuring the accomplishment of this goal is of utmost importance to her while she is alive and able to actively participate in it.

In doing so, she will have the opportunity to exercise her creative judgment by allowing individuals from diverse backgrounds to audition for the role of Dolly, rather than exclusively considering candidates with extensive musical theater backgrounds.

Parton mentions that she could potentially lead a competition called "Finding Dolly," where she will conduct a widespread search to find actors for three different versions of the main character. These variations include a younger version of Dolly, an earlier stage of her life, and an older version of Dolly.

"We will be holding auditions and using various methods to discover talented individuals. I believe this process will also be enjoyable for people," Parton explains. "The exciting part is that we never know where we will find these individuals. They may have never performed on stage before or may have only been involved in local theater. However, the search for these talents will be an enjoyable aspect, I believe."

Dolly Parton has mentioned the possibility of a musical about her life in previous interviews. She expressed her desire to see the show come to fruition by "late '25," as stated in her recent conversation with People.
