In the television series Nashville, Hayden Panettiere played the role of Juliette Barnes, a renowned country singer. The show aired from 2012 to 2018. Panettiere has been candid about her battles with alcohol, opioids, and post-partum depression. In a recent interview, she revealed that the show's writers drew inspiration heavily from her own experiences for her character's storylines, making the filming process particularly challenging for her.
Right from the start, it felt like I was dating a football player and then Juliette starts dating one too," Panettiere explains. "And then they made her character an alcoholic. After that, they had her leave her daughter and go to some crazy place in Europe, and it was clear that they weren't being original. They weren't coming up with new storylines. They were just taking inspiration from my life and putting their own twist on it. And then, voila! It's finished and done."
According to Panettiere, her time on Nashville was highly beneficial for her career. However, she also found it to be emotionally distressing as she felt as though she was reliving her own personal experiences through her character.
Panettiere has planned a tour called "A Conversation With Hayden Panettiere," that will take place in three different cities. Through this tour, she aims to inspire and support individuals who are facing similar challenges as she has in her own life.
