Summer, the wife of Jon Pardi, has shared some exciting details about her second pregnancy. The couple recently announced that they are expecting their second child, and now they are fully embracing the preparations for their upcoming arrival. Summer took to Instagram Stories to answer some questions and give fans a glimpse into her current pregnancy journey.
The singer's wife took some time on Saturday (Jan. 27) to respond to fan inquiries about pregnancy and babies. Among the topics discussed was how she discovered her pregnancy this time. She confessed that the news was unexpected, not due to lack of effort, but because it took them a while to conceive their first child, Presley, who is now one year old.
Summer shared that they faced difficulties conceiving their child, Presley, and tried for two years. They were even advised to undergo in vitro fertilization (IVF) but surprisingly, they managed to conceive naturally when they decided to let go of all the worries. In October, they decided to try for another baby, assuming it might take a while again due to their previous experience.
She discovered her pregnancy in the morning, beginning with a test that initially showed a negative result. She woke up very early one morning and needed to use the bathroom, so she decided to take a pregnancy test since they had been trying for a few weeks. She observed the test, which indicated a negative outcome, so she felt disappointed and discarded it in the trash before going back to sleep.
Luckily, the story did not come to an end at that point. After a few hours, Summer had a feeling and decided to retrieve the pregnancy test from the garbage and examine it again. She discovered that the result was indeed positive. Summer realized that she had become accustomed to COVID-19 tests providing instant results, causing her to forget that pregnancy tests take a few minutes to show the complete outcome.
In other parts of the Q&A session, Summer reveals that she was taken aback when she discovered that they were going to have another daughter. This was unexpected for her because she had experienced quite different symptoms compared to her first pregnancy. This time, she experienced intense nausea from weeks 5 to 10, which made her believe she was carrying a baby boy. She even had already chosen a theme for the nursery based on this assumption.
This month, Pardis used a unique method to reveal the gender of their baby by pulling apart slices of a pepperoni pizza and finding pink slips of paper underneath. Both Summer and her husband, who is a country singer, were pleasantly surprised to discover that they would be welcoming another girl into their family. Despite the unexpected news, they are extremely thrilled about it.
The well-being of a joyful and healthy baby is the top priority. Additionally, we are content with having two babies at the moment. While I won't completely rule out the possibility, we currently don't have any intentions or arrangements for a third baby.
The couple is currently having a disagreement about what to name their upcoming baby. While Pardi chose their first child's name, Summer says he "hates" all her suggestions for their second baby and believes he gets to choose the name again. As a result, they are currently not speaking about it, although Summer is jokingly saying that. She also shared a list of her current favorite names, which include Aspen, Grace, Nelli, Skeye, and others.
Pardi and summer tied the knot in 2020 and welcomed their baby, Presley, in February 2023. When they revealed the news of their pregnancy, they mentioned that they had been attempting to have a baby since their wedding. They sought medical advice before taking a break from trying to conceive, and surprisingly, they conceived shortly after.
