The Traumatic Reality: Hayden Panettiere Opens Up About the Dark Side of ‘Nashville

  • by

Hayden Panettiere, known for her role in the TV show 'Nashville', recently shared in an interview that her experience working on the show had a significant impact on her mental well-being, describing it as "very traumatizing". Despite achieving great success professionally, Panettiere reveals that filming the show was a challenging and distressing experience for her.

Panettiere played the role of Juliette Barnes, a country star, in the television series Nashville, which aired from 2012 to 2018. Throughout her career, the actress has been vocal about her battles with alcohol addiction, opioid abuse, and post-partum depression. In a recent interview with the Messenger, she reveals that the show's writers drew heavily from her own experiences for her character's storylines, making the filming process particularly challenging for her.

Right from the start, it felt like I was dating a football player, and then Juliette starts dating a football player too," Panettiere explains. "But then they portrayed her as an alcoholic. They also had her leave her daughter and go to some crazy place in Europe, and it was obvious that they weren't being creative. They were just taking elements from my life and adding their own twist to it. And just like that, they were done."

According to Panettiere, her time on Nashville brought her a lot of professional success. However, she also found the experience to be emotionally challenging because she felt like she was reliving her own personal life through her character.

Panettiere is planning a tour called "A Conversation With Hayden Panettiere" that will take place in three different cities. Through this tour, she aims to inspire and support individuals who are facing similar challenges as she has in her own life.
