According to a recent interview, Hayden Panettiere, known for her role in the popular TV show 'Nashville', revealed that filming the series had a significant impact on her mental well-being, describing it as a "very traumatizing" experience. Despite the show's success, Panettiere's personal experience on set was quite challenging.
Panettiere portrayed the character of Juliette Barnes, a country star, in the TV series Nashville which aired from 2012 to 2018. The actress has been candid about her personal battles with alcohol, opioids, and post-partum depression. In a recent interview, she reveals that the show's writers drew heavily from her own experiences for her character's storylines, making the filming process particularly challenging for her.
Right from the start, it felt like I was dating a football player, and then Juliette dates a football player," Panettiere says. "And then they portrayed her as an alcoholic. Then they showed her leaving her daughter and going to this crazy place in Europe, and it was very obvious that they were not being original. They were not coming up with new storylines. They were simply taking aspects of my life and adding their own twist to it. And just like that, it's finished."
Panettiere expresses that her time on Nashville was highly fulfilling in terms of her career. However, she describes the experience as deeply distressing because she felt as though she was reliving her own personal life through her acting.
Panettiere is preparing to start a tour called "A Conversation With Hayden Panettiere" that aims to inspire and support individuals facing similar challenges as she has in the past.
