Despite achieving great success in her career through the show, Panettiere reveals in a recent interview that it left a lasting negative impact on her.
Panettiere played the role of Juliette Barnes, a famous country singer, in the TV show Nashville. The show aired from 2012 to 2018. The actress has been vocal about her challenges with alcohol, opioids, and post-partum depression. In a recent interview, she reveals that the show's writers drew inspiration from her own experiences for her character's storylines, making the filming process particularly challenging for her.
Right from the start, it felt like I was dating a football player and then Juliette also dates a football player," Panettiere says. "And then they portrayed her as an alcoholic. Then they showed her leaving her daughter and going to this crazy place in Europe, and it was very clear that they weren't being original. They weren't coming up with new storylines. They were simply taking aspects from my life and adding their own twist to it. And just like that, it's done and finished."
According to Panettiere, her time working on Nashville was fulfilling in terms of her career. However, she describes the experience as being emotionally distressing because she felt as though she was reliving her own personal life through her acting.
Panettiere has planned a tour called "A Conversation With Hayden Panettiere" that will take place in three cities. Through this tour, she aims to inspire and support individuals who are facing similar challenges as she has experienced.
