The Trauma of Fame: Hayden Panettiere Opens Up About Her Experience on ‘Nashville

  • by

Hayden Panettiere, known for her role in the TV show 'Nashville', recently opened up in an interview about the negative impact the show had on her. Despite achieving great professional success through her role, she expressed that filming the show was an extremely distressing experience for her.

Panettiere played the role of Juliette Barnes, a country star, in the TV series Nashville, which aired from 2012 to 2018. She has been candid about her battles with alcohol, opioids, and post-partum depression. In a recent interview with the Messenger, she reveals that the show's writers heavily drew inspiration from her own experiences for her character's storylines, which added to the challenges she faced while filming.

From the very beginning, Panettiere felt like the show was mirroring her own life. She started dating a football player and then her character, Juliette, also ended up dating a football player. However, the writers didn't stop there. They made Juliette an alcoholic and had her abandon her daughter to go to Europe. It was clear that the writers were not being creative and instead just taking inspiration from Panettiere's real-life experiences and putting their own twist on it. The result was a lack of original storylines.

According to Panettiere, her time on Nashville was highly fulfilling in terms of her career. However, she expressed that the experience was deeply distressing as it made her feel as though she was reliving her own personal life through her acting.

Panettiere plans to begin a tour called "A Conversation With Hayden Panettiere" in three different cities. Through this tour, she aims to inspire and support individuals who are facing similar challenges as she has experienced.
