Despite achieving great success professionally through the show, Panettiere admits to facing significant emotional challenges during its production.
Panettiere played the role of a country singer named Juliette Barnes on the TV show Nashville, which was on the air from 2012 to 2018. She has been public about her challenges with alcohol, opioids, and post-partum depression. In a recent interview, Panettiere reveals that the show's writers drew inspiration from her own experiences for her character's storylines, making the filming process particularly challenging for her.
Right from the start, it felt like I was dating a football player, and then Juliette starts dating a football player too," Panettiere remarks. "And then they portrayed her as an alcoholic. After that, they showed her abandoning her daughter and going to this crazy place in Europe. It was obvious that they weren't being creative with the storylines. They were simply taking inspiration from my life and adding their own twist to it. And just like that, it was all done."
Panettiere expresses that her time in Nashville was fulfilling for her professional growth. However, she describes the experience as emotionally distressing because she felt as though she was reliving her own life while performing.
Panettiere plans to initiate a tour called "A Conversation With Hayden Panettiere" in three cities. Her intention is to inspire and support individuals who are facing similar challenges as she has experienced.
