Actress Hayden Panettiere, known for her role in the TV series 'Nashville', recently revealed in an interview that working on the show had a significant impact on her mental well-being, describing it as a "very traumatizing" experience. Despite achieving great success in her career through the series, Panettiere expressed the emotional toll it took on her during filming.
Panettiere played the role of Juliette Barnes, a country star, in the television series Nashville, which aired from 2012 to 2018. The actress has been candid about her battles with alcohol, opioids, and post-partum depression. In a recent interview, she reveals that the show's writers drew heavily from her own experiences for her character's storylines, resulting in a challenging filming process for her.
Right from the start, it felt like I was dating a football player, and then Juliette dates a football player," Panettiere explains. "But then, they made her into an alcoholic. After that, they had her abandon her daughter and go to some crazy place in Europe, and it was very obvious… They weren't being creative. They weren't coming up with new storylines. They were simply looking at my life and saying, 'Oh, let's just take what she's going through and put our own twist on it.' And then, voila! It's finished."
According to Panettiere, her time on the television show Nashville was both professionally fulfilling and emotionally distressing. She describes the experience as "traumatizing" because she felt as though she was reliving her own personal life through her character.
Panettiere has planned a tour called "A Conversation With Hayden Panettiere" that will take place in three cities. The purpose of the tour is to inspire and support those who are facing similar challenges as she has experienced.
