The Traumatic Side of Success: Hayden Panettiere Opens Up About Her Experience on ‘Nashville

  • by

Hayden Panettiere, known for her role in the popular show 'Nashville', recently opened up about her experience working on the series. In a recent interview, she revealed that filming the show had a profound impact on her mental well-being, describing it as a "very traumatizing" experience. Despite achieving significant success through her role, Panettiere's time on the show left a lasting and challenging impact on her.

In the television series Nashville, Hayden Panettiere played the role of Juliette Barnes, a country star. The show aired from 2012 to 2018. Panettiere has been candid about her challenges with alcohol, opioids, and post-partum depression. In a recent interview with the Messenger, she revealed that the writers of the show drew heavily from her own experiences to develop her character's storylines. This made the filming process particularly challenging for her.

Right from the start, it felt like I was dating a football player, and then Juliette starts dating one too," Panettiere expresses. "And then they portrayed her as an alcoholic. After that, they had her abandon her daughter and go to some crazy place in Europe, and it was obvious that they weren't being original. They weren't coming up with new storylines. They were simply taking elements from my life and adding their own twist to it. And just like that, it's completed."

According to Panettiere, her time on the show Nashville was highly fulfilling in terms of her career. However, she describes the experience as deeply distressing because she felt as though she was reliving her own personal life through her acting.

Panettiere is planning to go on a tour called "A Conversation With Hayden Panettiere" across three cities. Through this tour, she aims to inspire and support individuals who may be facing similar challenges as she has in the past.
