The Traumatic Toll of Fame: Hayden Panettiere Opens Up About Her Experience on ‘Nashville

  • by

According to a recent interview, Hayden Panettiere, known for her role in the popular TV show 'Nashville', expressed that filming the show had a significant negative impact on her mental well-being, describing it as a "very traumatizing" experience.

From 2012 to 2018, Panettiere played the role of Juliette Barnes, a country star, on the television show Nashville. Throughout her career, she has been transparent about her battles with alcohol, opioids, and post-partum depression. In a recent interview with the Messenger, Panettiere reveals that the show's writers drew heavily from her own experiences to shape her character's storylines, resulting in challenging filming experiences for her.

Right from the start, it felt like I was dating a football player, and then Juliette also started dating a football player," Panettiere explains. "But then they portrayed her as an alcoholic. They also had her abandon her daughter and go to some crazy place in Europe, and it was very obvious that they were not being creative. Instead of coming up with new storylines, they were just taking inspiration from my own life and adding their own twist to it. And just like that, they were done."

According to Panettiere, her time on the show Nashville was fulfilling in terms of her career. However, she found the experience to be emotionally distressing as she felt like she was reliving her own life through her acting.

Panettiere is planning to undertake a tour called "A Conversation With Hayden Panettiere" in three different cities. The purpose of this tour is to inspire and support individuals who are facing similar challenges to the ones she has experienced.
