Chris Young Exonerated: Charges Dropped After Nashville Bar Arrest

  • by

Chris Young has been found not guilty of any charges following the incident that occurred at a bar in Nashville on Monday night.

Glenn Funk, the District Attorney of Nashville, issued a statement indicating that the charges would be dropped following a comprehensive examination of all the evidence involved in this particular case.

The concise statement did not provide any further details, however, Young's attorney had requested the complete dismissal of charges and a formal apology. This request was made after a video emerged showing Young being forcefully pushed to the ground by a TABC agent.

In the video, it seems like the singer of "Young Love & Saturday Night" extends his arm towards one of the agents, but is forcefully pushed. As a result, the 38-year-old singer stumbles and falls backwards into the bar, eventually landing on some chairs nearby.

Attorney Bill Ramsey states in a statement shared with Taste of Country on Wednesday (Jan. 24) that the arrest and charges against his client, Chris Young, at a bar in Nashville on Monday night were unjust and should not have occurred.

Young's initial encounter with TABC took place just moments before at the Tin Roof bar. According to the agency's report, Young raised his ID above his head and cooperated with the inspection. However, when he reappeared later, the report mentioned that he had bloodshot and watery eyes, as well as a speech impairment.

A representative acknowledged that they had encouraged Young to keep a distance from someone. However, when the footage of the incident surfaced, the majority of the public supported Young.

Taste of Country was given access to four distinct camera angles, which enables fans to assess the amount of aggression displayed by Young. However, Young has not addressed the incident on any social media platform as of now.
