Chris Young has been found not guilty of any charges related to the incident that took place at a bar in Nashville on Monday night.
Glenn Funk, the District Attorney of Nashville, has issued a statement indicating that the charges will be dropped "following a thorough examination of all the evidence involved in this particular case."
The short statement did not provide any additional details, however, Young's attorney had requested a complete dismissal of charges and a formal apology. This request was made in response to a recently discovered video footage which depicted Young being forcefully pushed to the ground by a TABC agent.
The singer of the song "Young Love & Saturday Night" seems to extend his arm to one agent, but then he is forcefully pushed. Following this, the 38-year-old singer collapses onto the bar and subsequently falls onto some chairs nearby.
Attorney Bill Ramsey asserts in a statement given to Taste of Country on Wednesday (Jan. 24) that the arrest and charges against his client Chris Young, which occurred at a bar in Nashville on Monday night, were unjust and should have never occurred.
Young and the TABC had their initial encounter at the Tin Roof bar a short while ago. According to the agency's report, Young raised his ID above his head and cooperated with the verification process. However, when he returned, the report mentioned that he exhibited bloodshot and watery eyes, along with speech that was difficult to understand.
A representative acknowledged that they did encourage Young to "put some space between them." However, when a video showing the incident came to light, the general public overwhelmingly supported Young in their judgment.
Taste of Country was given four different camera perspectives that allow fans to assess the level of aggression shown by Young. So far, Young has not made any statements about the incident on social media.
