Conner Smith has recently released his first album titled "Smoky Mountains." One of the songs on the album, called "Creek Will Rise," is gaining popularity and climbing the country music charts.
However, not too distant in the past, the emerging talent was simply an average teenager of 16 years old, attending a live performance of one of his beloved country music artists.
During the most recent episode of Taste of Country Nights, available On Demand, Smith shares a personal anecdote about his experience at a Thomas Rhett concert in 2016 that left a significant impression on him.
At the age of 16, I had the opportunity to go on a date with a girl to watch a Thomas Rhett concert. The venue was Ascend Amphitheater, and we chose to sit on the lawn. During the show, Thomas Rhett performed his song "Die a Happy Man," and I attempted to slow dance with the girl I was with, aiming to create a romantic and affectionate atmosphere.
Smith states that the following day, his girlfriend ended their relationship.
After we have a moment of laughter, he proceeds to tell the story. He mentions that about four years later, he was on tour with Rhett and he thinks to himself, "I suppose I had the final laugh in that situation, if you know what I mean."
Smith has recounted this story on several occasions during his performances, and it has become a beloved choice amongst the audience.
Let's discuss the ultimate form of revenge and validation in a romantic split.
