At the age of 16, I had the opportunity to go on a date with a girl to attend a Thomas Rhett concert. The concert took place at Ascend Amphitheater, and we were seated on the lawn. During the show, Thomas Rhett performed his song "Die a Happy Man," and I attempted to slow dance with the girl in a sweet manner.
Smith mentions that the following day, his partner ended their relationship with him.
After a moment of laughter, he proceeds to narrate the rest of the story. He mentions that about four years later, he was on a tour with Rhett and realized that he had ultimately had the final triumph in that situation.
