Thomas Rhett’s Concert Helps Conner Smith Heal Heartbreak

  • by

Conner Smith has released his first album titled "Smoky Mountains" which is now available. One of the songs from the album called "Creek Will Rise" is gaining popularity and climbing up the country music charts.

However, not too far in the past, the up-and-coming talent was simply an ordinary sixteen-year-old attending a concert of one of his beloved country music performers.

During the most recent episode of Taste of Country Nights, available on demand, Smith shares a personal anecdote about his experience at a Thomas Rhett concert in 2016 that left a lasting impression on him.

At the age of 16, I had the opportunity to go on a date with a girl to a Thomas Rhett concert. The venue was Ascend Amphitheater, and we were seated in the lawn area. During the show, Thomas Rhett performed "Die a Happy Man," and at that moment, I wanted to slow dance with the girl and create a sweet and romantic atmosphere.

According to Smith, the following day, his girlfriend ended their relationship.

We have a moment of laughter here, and then he proceeds to tell the rest of the story. He mentions that about 4 years later, he was on tour with Rhett, and he thought to himself, "I suppose I had the final laugh in that situation, if you know what I mean."

Smith has recounted this story multiple times during his performances, and it has become a beloved choice among the audience.

Let's discuss the ultimate form of revenge and validation during a romantic separation.
