During the most recent episode of Taste of Country Nights, which can be accessed on demand, Smith shares a personal anecdote about his experience at a Thomas Rhett concert in 2016 that left a lasting impression on him.
At the age of 16, I had the opportunity to go on a date with a girl to a concert by Thomas Rhett. The show took place at Ascend Amphitheater, and we were seated on the lawn area. During the performance, Thomas Rhett played his popular song "Die a Happy Man." I recall attempting to slow dance with the girl, aiming to create a romantic atmosphere.
Smith mentions that the following day, their partner ended their relationship.
After sharing a moment of laughter, he proceeds to narrate the rest of the story. "About 4 years later, I go on tour with Rhett and I think to myself, 'Well, I suppose I had the final victory in that situation,' if you understand what I'm saying," he reminisces.
Smith has shared this anecdote on stage multiple times and it has become a popular choice among the audience.
Let's discuss an incredibly satisfying and justified outcome after a breakup.
