At the age of 16, I had the opportunity to go on a date with a girl to a Thomas Rhett concert. The venue was Ascend Amphitheater, and we sat on the lawn section. During the show, Thomas Rhett performed his song "Die a Happy Man." At that moment, I tried to slow dance with the girl I was with, aiming to create a romantic and sweet atmosphere.

Smith states that the following day, his partner ended their relationship.

After we have a moment of laughter, he proceeds to tell the rest of the story. He mentions that about four years later, he was on tour with Rhett and had a realization that made him feel satisfied and triumphant.

Smith has recounted this anecdote on multiple occasions during his performances, and it has become a beloved choice among the audience.
