At the age of 16, I had the opportunity to go on a date with a girl to see a performance by Thomas Rhett. The venue for the show was Ascend Amphitheater and we were seated in the lawn area. During the concert, Thomas Rhett performed his popular song "Die a Happy Man." I attempted to slow dance with the girl I was with, wanting to create a sweet and romantic moment.

According to Smith, the following day, his girlfriend ended their relationship.

After we shared a moment of laughter, he proceeds to tell the rest of the story. He mentions that around four years later, he was on tour with Rhett and he jokingly says, "I guess I had the final laugh in that situation, you know what I mean?"
